This map of America pins the top 10 most fat states, the top 10 least fat states in America, and shows a description of the percent obesity in each state. A majority of the most obese states reside in the south, with Mississippi being the #1 most obese state with 30.4% of adults being obese.
The states ranked 40-50 in obesity are more scattered around the US. However they are predominantly in the West (including Hawaii), and in the Northeast.The sad fact about obesity in America is that even though Colorado is the least obese state in the nation, no state has an obesity rate under 20%.
Top 10 most obese cities in America
This map is interesting, in comparison to the map which displays the top 10 most and least obese states in the country. In the map, "Obesity rates across america", almost all of the most obese states were in the deep south. However when it comes to cities there are only three cities in the south that made the top 10 list.
On the map, "Obesity rates across america", about half of the LEAST obese states were in the NorthEast. However strangely enough, two cities (including the 2nd most obese city in the nation) are in the NE, which is supposed to be one of the least obese regions in America.
